Gail Carillo is a senior at Bridgeport High School who has been dancing since age three. She currently trains at The Dance Factory in Buckhannon and Altered Productions Institute, and has been a member of the Augusta Youth Ballet Company since age nine. Through AYBC, she has performed in productions including The Nutcracker as the Snow Queen, Alice in Wonderland, Coppélia, Cinderella, Firebird, and The Dark Crystal as Jen. Gail also previously danced with API’s Protégé Company, performing in showcases and competitions. Gail has attended the WV State Dance Festival, WV Fall Festival, WVU Summer Dance Academy, Joffrey Dallas Multi-Genre Intensive, and Governor’s School for the Arts as a Dance discipline. Through her training and festival participation, she has received scholarships from Brenau University, Cary Ballet Conservatory, DanceWorks Festival, and Ohio University’s Summer Intensive Program. Outside of dance, Gail is an honors student involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and several school leadership organizations. She plans to pursue a career as a pediatrician while continuing her passion for dance through a minor in dance. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at United Hospital Center, lectoring at All Saints Catholic Church, playing violin and piano, painting, reading, and creating hand-painted merchandise. Gail is excited to share her love of dance with the next generation of dancers and looks forward to helping her students grow in both skill and confidence!
