Marguerite Kennedy is a senior at Notre Dame High School, where she is a member of the Performing Arts Conservatory, Mass Choir, and Thespian Troupe. She has been involved in a variety of theatrical productions and has received numerous honors for her performances, including an Excellent Musical Theatre Singing Solo adjudication at the International Thespian Festival, an Excellent Musical Theatre Dance Solo adjudication at the West Virginia State Thespian Festival, and both the Distinguished Actor Award and All Festival Cast recognition at her regional Thespian Festival. She has also received a Superior adjudication at Solo & Ensemble for her operatic solo performance.

Marguerite’s performing arts training spans several years and disciplines. She has apprenticed under Montani Cantanti for the past six years, receiving extensive training in musical theatre, and has studied voice with Joshua Stubbs for five years. Her dance training began primarily at Altered Productions Institute, where she developed a particular love for tap. She has also recently expanded her training with MTCA in dance, vocal, and acting performance as she continues preparing for a future in the performing arts.

One performance that holds a special place for Marguerite was dancing with The Extreme Team to help raise money for Dancing Dreams, an organization dedicated to making dance accessible to everyone. She also had the opportunity to serve as choreographer for the Rustic Mechanics Apprentice Troupe’s production of The Winter’s Tale this past summer.

Marguerite is thrilled to return to Altered Productions Institute as a tap teacher this year. Teaching the style that first sparked her love of dance feels like a true full-circle moment. As Marguerite puts it, “It’s like a full circle moment for me. I get to teach my first and favorite style before heading off to college next year.”
